Frances McGee Cromartie and Jay Carter
Frances McGee Cromartie is a retired judge from Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. She is active in many community organizations which include: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; Carrousel Inc. where she is the National Parliamentarian; Girl Scouts of America, Buckeye Trails Council; Soroptimist International of Dayton; the Daughters of the American Revolution, Dayton Chapter; The NAACP and numerous other social and civic organizations. She has written for a variety of publications including Guideposts. She is the daughter of former Dayton mayor James H. McGee.
Attorney Jay Bernard Carter is a third generation Dayton lawyer. His father and grandfather were active in the Dayton legal community starting in the 1920’s.
Jay is a graduate of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, and The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law. Jay began his legal career in Columbus where he served as an associate for the law firm Crabbe Brown and later Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease. Jay returned to the Dayton community over twenty-five years ago in order to continue his family’s legacy of legal excellence.
Jay is in private practice. His primary focus is criminal defense. Jay is an active volunteer and has received multiple awards for his charitable and professional accomplishments.
